Visa joined FireEye and SafeBreach at the RSA Conference this week to speak with security leaders about the importance and power of sharing intelligence about active cyber threats. Cyber criminals are increasingly sophisticated and well resourced, while companies can be overwhelmed with thousands of security alerts to analyze and act on every day. Visa Threat Intelligence powered by FireEye (VTI) aims to help companies fight back.
FireEye’s research shows that on average a hacker can breach a system within three days and remain undetected for 146 days. When companies are receiving up to 17,000 security alerts a week, it’s difficult to know which needle in the haystack to focus on and respond to. Specific, actionable threat intelligence can help companies respond more quickly and better protect themselves from breaches.
Rather than telling you that burglars are targeting homes in your neighborhood, it would be much more valuable and effective to tell you that the burglar is a team of three people in a white van with an out-of-state license plate.
